Bio

Photographer and digital artist, John Cunningham has been a graphic designer for over thirty-one years. Having experimented in a variety of mediums it hasn't been until the past half-decade that John began finding his artistic passions fulfilled through the photographic image. Schooled through the New York Institute of Photography and numerous other workshops John quickly found out that many of the principals of composition, layout, and aesthetics found in the graphic design field share a common ground with photography. This along with his love for the outdoors and people has helped him to find a home in the art of photography.

John recently started his own sideline photography business - The View Finder Photography. What started out as a hobby has developed into an obsession and possibly one day into a full time career. John feels very blessed to be married to such a supportive and tolerant wife. His wife Mary encouraged him suggesting, "If you're going to keep spending money doing this, why don't you think about actually selling some of your work rather than giving it away!"

John is a photographer of the new-school era. Never having developed a negative in the darkroom or created a print on an enlarger, he embraced the digital age of photography while very much appreciating the rich history of the "silver print" photographers. He now shoots completely digital, utilizing state of the art Photoshop CS2 and printing on die sublimation and inkjet printers. John now feels he has more control of the entire creative process from the initial conception to final presentation. We hope you enjoy the experience of viewing his work nearly as much as he enjoyed making them.
